Many Canadians at Houle did not Real-
ize How Important Perfect Condi-
tion Looms at the Front.
Ottawa, Oct, 10,—The operation of
the Military Service Act, as 11 1185 been
explained in the press by the Military
Service Council, has aroused copsid-
erable interest throughout the country.
Many people, according to reports
reaching official quarters here, are.
surprised at the importance assumed
by physical fitness in the making up
of armies for active service.
As a matter of fact, physical con-
dition is all important in the case of a
soldier, explains a high official of the
Military Department. You will rarely
find a veteran soldier who is not poss-
essed of tni extremely strong constituf-
iLm, For the onerous duties of lighting
in the trenches, men must be in per-
fect condition and that is why a certain
percentage only of many thousands of
reserves is available at any time for
immediate reinforcement. Men who
are not in category "Ai" when the
call comes cannot be taken.
To' many men, indeed, it is one
of the attractions of military life that
lugged health is demanded of those
who go to the front—where the vast
majority of soldiers in training are al-
ways eager to go.

L Lye,
Many people have been cured of nervous disorders right here in this locality, and hundreds of others are now putting this
great restorative to the test. Everywhere you hear people talking about Dr. Chase's Nerve Food, and you will find in this paper
each week reports of cures effected. Incjuire into these cases, ask your friends and neighbors about the Nerve Food, and try it your-
self. It is Nature's way of building up a run-down system.

very nervous. I was easily irritated and
any trivial matter or noise from the chil-

great distress. For about 1 Year I was un-
