Huron Pioys Comity Lists • Word was received on Saturday of the death of the second son of Sergt.`-' 'rhos, Nritton, had died of wounds in the recent fighting in France. Pte. William George Britton enlisted in Paris before he • was. 18, and joined the Mounted Rifles at Toronto. He was a baker by trade commencing at Harry Bartliff's and also drove the bread wagon in the afternoons., lie is sur- vived by his father, who is now on his way overseas with the Kent Batalion, and his eldest brother, Russel, who is now serving at the front, and itis sivaller brothers and sisters at home here. ---eu_-- • Mrs, Grant received word on Wed- nesday that her second boy, who en- listed with the 161st, 'Pte William Grant, has been nosing since April 5th. Airs. Grant's youngest sot was killed a few months ago. This son, now miss- ing belonged to a machine gun section in Frances•+ 1" --��-- Pte Franklin Elwood, son of Thomas Elwood of Goderich ',Township, was reported missing on April 10th. A WEEK IN CLINTON Gets Two Years. It is reported that Pte. Harry Jones who was signed up 'for the 241st "Kittle." Battalion, last December by Lieut. A. J, Grigg, has been sentenced to two years for desertion by a Wood- stock' magistrate. The 241st left for . Overseas last week. Jones worked at Stapleton while here. Rack to Front for Third Time. Lieut. -Colonel Sutherland, formerly commander of the 71 sot. Battalion, has again reported for duty in England.
