of the Canadian Pac.ille Railway, The
first illustrates life -boat thrill on a
troopship, the second a naval quick -
firing gun and one of its operators,
and the third the remains of a Ger-
man I3owitzer gun that had been
struck by a British shell.
The three pictures are a suggestion
for reflection on three different
phases of the war. The transporta-
tion of troops from the overseas do-
minions to the motherland and from
the motherland to the different
spheres ichthe motherland isry iviwith

enemy submarines have kept out for
them. The picture of life -boast drill
on the truopshtp shows that troops
erosstng the seas aro prepared for
emergencies. Several of the Cana-
dian Pacific liners have been engaged
in conveying troops from Canada to
England. They have also been occu-
pled on other missions in the sauce
transportation task, and so far there
have been no casualties. The view
of the qu:ek-firing gun and its man.ip•

the equipment of the navy. These

giousness today that does not know
the forgiveness of sins by the precious ; workers at home !
The portions of this chapter selected
by the committee bring before us the
forgiveness of a sinner, the evidence
of true discipleship and the deity of
Christ, who was before Abraham. But
?chat about chapter vii? Well, In viii,
20, we have a fact also mentioned in
vii, 0, 8, SOLUS time to give Himself
up had not come, ,and therefore they
could not take him. Contrast silt, 1;
xvii, 1, Jesus knew that Ills hour was
come; Palter the hour is come. In the
plan of eternity, the plan of the ages
and in the plan of your life and mine
there is an appointed time, and it be-
comes us to accept -it cheerfully and
airy, "My times are in thy hand" (Ps.
xxxl, 15).
Their desire to kill Ilim is seen in
1, 32, and in viii, 40. Their hatred
of Elm is seen in their calling N

deceiver and a devil (vii, 12, 0;
48). '1t is perplexing to read in vii, 5,
that rap to this time .Ells brethren did
not believe in Elim. Some devoted
Christians say, "If Why life was what it
ought to be at home, wenld not others
in the home receive Ilio too?" Not
necessarily. Consider Jesus. See 1116
