Last week the f-Iolmcsville Patriotic
Society shipped twelve boxes to boys at
the front, (some of these boys have been
at.the front almost since the beginning
of the war). The boxes each contained 3
pairs of socks flannel shirt, chocolate.
candles, soap gum etc. The Society
also shipped 51 pairs of socks, 14 field
shine 10 the Field Comforts'Department
of the lied Cross headquarters, Toronto.
This makes a total of Si pairs of socks
and 36 field shirts, made and shipped in
the last three weeks.
Some of our workers were astonished
at the Report. from s Jure of the Patriotic
Sucietie, around Goderich and Colborne,
at the large number of socks sent in,

societies are having the legs knit by

greatly. The question of getting this
part of the work cline by the knitting
