Gunn, 'C.M.G„ D.S.O. will command
Military District No. 2, succeeding
Maj. -Gen. Logie, who will shortly
assume his duties as judge of the
Supreme Court • bench. It was
thought .that an officer Commanding
one of the Canadian divisions . in the
field would be selected for this tm-
portant' district, but cable advices
state that the officer will , not be
availaible for a few months, and. Col.
Gunn's appointment is therefore a
temporary one.
Col. Gunn is an officer of long
standing in the. Canadian Militia. He
organized the 24th , Battalion, C.E.F.,
which he commanded. with distinction
in the fiield,,and has served overseas
continuously until a recent date,
