voluntary guides to show men around
this city, which is just teeming with
historical interest. Also we want to
find homes here that will show hospit-
ality to men on leave, and give them
a good impression of Scotland and the
Old Country, Further, we want to.ar-
range for trips . to Glasgow, Ayr,
Clyde, Loch Lomond, ' Stirling, Perth,
Aberdeen, Inverness, etc. This is a
beautiful country especially in Sumpter
1 expect to be here for a month or
more and then return to London. I
was sorry to, leave our home in London
evetj ,for a month or so, we were so
comfortable and had such a good cook

ly realized the were living on rations.

t have been here note two weeks
working along with the other Colonial
and British •representatives in the In-
ternational Y, M. C. A., of which I
ani the Canadian representative, 1 rand
the people are exceedingly kind and.
hospitable. Have been invited to sev-
eral homes (some of the high class) and
needless, to say I have accepted. i
ani living at a Temperance Hotel and
get plenty to eat and tun quite comfor-
table, although we have our meatless
days, but that is a small hardship cons -
pared with what the boys at the front
have to endure,and of course we do
not suffer with the cold. Spring is
here now, flowers are blooming, grass,
green and growing, birds are singing,
inspite of tlse fact that the people here
are anxious these days as many Edin-
burgh men are in this great battle.
This is the greatest place for church-
es t have ever seen, big and bautiful
ones, and apparently well filled. The
order of service sounds like old times,
to hear the psalms in metre, collection.

guides to see the city to -day, fixed two'
up as a faros, etc, thus our work goes

Tuesday evening. it was found that.

in a healthy condition, that a good in-

the church generally and great har-

Jones, was extended an unanimous in-
vitation to return for another year and
was granted a months' vacation.
