For the first time in Canadian his-
tory women have been called into
•conference with the Cabinet ; last
week leading women from ale Abe
provinces of Canada gathered in Ot-
tawa to confer with the Canadian
cabinet on matters vital to the wel-
fare of the country. The war has
given Canadian women, no less than
those of other countries, an oppor-
tunity of proving their ability along
various lines, and this ability, is
-coming to be recognized and counted
