In the majority of instanc- es two causes stand out for the increas- ing number one is the speed fiend at the wheel and other carelessness or in- experience in management. "There is no reason wiry a vehicle capable of ac- complishing so much good should be the cause of so much destruction. Mr. Hartley Dcw;u•t, the Liberal leader, in a speech delivered in To- ronto Monday evening charged the government "with having deliberately placed upon the statute books a law that is being used to put on the lists the names of those they want on the lists, by means of their partizan enumerators, and of leaving off the lists those they do not want," Cer- tain it is that the method of making up voters' lists by means of enum- erators appointed by the govern- ment of the day is susceptible of great abuse, and is doubtless being so abused. There ought never to have been any departure from the old system of using the municipal lists as a basis ,for Dominion and Provincial lists, and then supple- menting these by registration. No good reason for making the change Inas ever been advanced. The Toronto Exhibition is always at sure fore -runner of fall, and the format opening of the great national institution occurred on Monday. No one can be healthy with the kidneys in a diseased or disordered state. The poieonoue uric acid which it is their duty to filter out of the blood is carried into the system, anti produces all kinds of kidney troubhs, such as backache, weak, lame or aching back, rheumatism, swelling of the feet and ankles, urinary disorders, bladder troubles, headaches, et.e., anti unless these are attended to promptly, serious complica- tions are sort' to arise and perhaps de- velop into dropsy, diabetes, Bright's diseases or other serious kidney trouble. Mrs. Abel Corkum, East Berlin, N.S., writes: -''I was a great sufferer from kidney disease, headache and constipa- tion. A MOTHER'S TRIALS W tit et Care Of Home and Children Often Causes a Breakdown. The woman at hotne, deep in house - 101d. duties and the cares of mother- hood, needs occasional help to keep her in good health.. The demands upon a mother's health` are malty and severe.tier own health trials and her children's welfare exact heavy tolls, while hurried meals, broken rest and much indoor living tend to weak- en her constitution. No wonder that the woman at home is often indisposed through weakness, headaches, back- aches and' nervousness. A good deal of talk is being heard nowadays about the farmer not being adequately represented in the Ontario Legislature. It is true that the agricultural community has not as many sponsors in the House as have urban centres, Nevertheless, there are more farmer M. P, P.'1 than there are members of any other calling. 111 proportion to numbers, the lawyers have the largest representation in the Legislature, but their business peculiarly fits them for public speak- ing and law -making. On ,the other hand, the average fanner is kept too busy looking after his cattle and grant to make ti close study of public affairs.
