Anniversary services were held in
Wesley 'Church on Sunday last, when
Rev. Dr. Rutledge, of Goderich, and a
former pastor took the services and
preached two line sermons. The offi-
cial Board asked for an offering of
5500 and'aiearly 5700 was placed on
the plates. Special music was furnish-
ed by the choir, and solos were given
by Miss Beatrice Greene and Miss
Lyttle, of Goderich. At the evening
service, the congregation of Ontario

Rev. Charles M. Rutherford has
placed his resignation in the hinds of
his session and the matter will come
before the Presbytery of Maitland at
its meeting in St. Helens, the 27th of
, this month.
! It is reported that Rev. W H.
Graham, of Stratford, will be the next
president of the London Conference.
Maitland Presbytery has sustained
a call from St. Helen's and East Ash-
field in favor of Rev. Peter Jamieson,
of Melborne, Ont, formerly of North
Easthope. .Provisional arrangements
were made •for his induction at St.
Helen's on Thursday, March 27th.

days, owing to the death of Miss Wilson

A Pleasant Evening
Last Thursday evening the young
Indies of Miss L. Steven's class of the
Ontario Street Sunday School enter-
tained the Y. M. 13. C., in the basement
of the church to a hot supper and
entertainment. About sixty sat down
to the bounteous repast provided by
the young ladies to which the young
men diad just credit. At tine close of
the banquet several toasts were
made,
Miss Helen Ross, President of the Cl ss
acting as toast -mistress, The, toast to
the King was replied to by a rending by
George Carter; that to the Army and
Navy by Earnest Livermore and Rev,
Agnew, One to the S. S. was respond-
ed to by Messrs, 8, 13, Stoners and W.
Welker, and Miss Lttcy Stevens, Mr,
S. Graham proposed a toast to the
ladies and Miss A L. Ord medal neat
well -worded reply, The remainder of
the evening was spent in contests
