Great Change in Frank McCullough to
Die at Toronto, for Murder
Toronto, 'March' 5 -Prank McCil-
lough, sentenced to be hanged on May
3' for torrecier of Acting Detective
Frank Williams, a native of Clinton,
Ont. is a changed man -so changed
that even his' death Watch and Toronto
jail attendants find it difficult to bee.
Neve that he is the stone man,
Instead of the haggard, dejected, re-
morseful prisoner he is now a bright,
clear-eyed and almost cheerful boy,
who is reconciled to his fate, although
still hopeful of a reprieve,
McCullough spends the greater part
of his tints reading the Bible from
thief he derives great comfort, and
has apparently received a new outlook
('Si life,
'paregts'telling of' the welfare of their
boys and of the care that is being
taken of -thein by tke German people.
All ;this is part of a very clever but
insidious' propaganda. • Gersbany Is
endeavoring to woo the United States
with a view to securing her influence
50 favor of ^snore lenient peace tern's,
and also'i11 the hope of stirring up feel-
ing between the Allies. The German
• press are constantly drawing campers -
ions between the attitude of the British
•inti French soldiers with that 'of the
American, the comparison rlways be-
ing in favor of the latter. This. is
clever propaganda; and tlse readiness
with which the Cermet) people are
complying with it, shows, as George
Pattulo, writing its the Saturday Even-
ing Post, says, that the German people
ere still tine same disciplined body and
that their thinking is one with the
master -mind, winch is that of von Hin-
denburg.

"We have now to apply the lesson
to ourselves in our personal life , In
so far as the lesson applies to us per-

while to risk the existence of the
whole British Empire and to sacrifice
thousands of lives to establish the su-

valuable than life. If the choice has
to be made by anyone between ad-

TEETHING TROUBLES
Baby's teething time is a time of
worry for most mothers. Baby's little
guilts became swollen and tender;
his bowels get out of order and con-
stipation, colic or even diarrhoea sets
in. To make the teething period
easy Baby's Own Tablets should be
given the little one. They sweeten
the stomach; regulate the bowels and
keep baby good natured, Concerning
them Mrs. Marcel D, LeBlanc, Men.-
rantcook, West, N. 13, ,writes: '1 have
used Baby's Own Tablets for the
past six years and have found then'
indispensable. To my mind nothing
can equal them in allaying the fever
acconapying teething , 1 would not
be without then' and can strongly re-
commend them to other mothers,"
The Tablets are sold by medicine
dealers or by mail at 25 cents a box
