Cook, qualified for School Trustee in St. James' Ward and is the new member for that Ward. Messrs. W. S. R. Holmes, Mr. Cook and Mr. A. J. Morrish are the new Trustees. Another nomination will have to be held to select a School Trustee for St. John's Ward, as T. Cottle, was the only one nominated, but he qualified to run for Mayor. The Ratepayers will regret that Councillors Wiltse and Sheppard drop- ped out of Municipal affairs this year. They were good men on the Board. A happy New Year is the greeting to Mayor . Twyford, of to)y n, that her husband, Pte. H. Twyford had died in England. The deceased was reported seriously ill a couple of weeks ago. Pte. Twyford went overseas with the 241st highlanders. He had also sign- ed up with the 33rd, and 56th Batti early in the war but was turned down is medically unlit. Ile was an old 'nr!i;h soldier belonging to the Dra- goon younger days.
