Mrs. (Dr.) Stanbury has been visiting her
niece, Mrs. Robt. Gibbtngs, during the
past week or two and renewing old
friendships hereabouts. Mrs. Stanbury
was for many years a resident of Bay-
field and stili spends part of almost ev-
ery summer there, though she did not
occupy her cottage there the past sum-

Mrs. Kearns returned on Monday from a
very pleasant visit with friends in Buf-
falo. Mrs. Kearns had the pleasure of
seeing the King and Queen of Belgium
and their young son when the royal
party visited Buffalo

Fred Bell returned from overseas on
Monday.
Mr. Adam Cantelon whet with an ac-
cident on Friday which will lay lint up I
partially for some time. The threshers
were getting ready to start work on
Saturday at his place and while assist-
ing in setting the machine got his left
hand badly crushed. He is spending a
few days in the hospital at Clinton hav-
ing the wounded member treated. We
trust his recovery will be rapid, but
he has lost the tips of his fingers.

Mr. J. Percy 'Cole has disposed of
his farm in Tuckersmith to Mr. Thos.
Consitt, of Seaford], lint we have not
yet learned what Mr. Cole intends do-
ing. He is still a young man hitt Ile
has moved several tunes and doesn't
seem to mind iltaking toolbar move.
There is an old saying that n rolling
stone gathers no most but we are in-
clined to think it is not applicable in
this case. Wherever Mr, and Mrs.
Cole decide to locate their many friends
wish them well.
Mr, Roy McClymoit who is study-
ing the drug business in Chatham, is
visiting with his parents at present.
Mr. Jas, Jarrott of the Western Uni-
versity, London, spent 'thanksgiving
with his parents.
Mr. Bert Fasken, another of our re-
turned heroes, is visiting with his par-
etits, and Miss Bessie Fasken, of Port
Dover, is also having a- p pleasant visit
last' week. She also attended the
Teachers' Convention at Exeter.
Mrs. Jas. Dick, of Seaford', accom-
panied by her four sons, two of them,
Tom and Joe, recently returned from
overseas, were the guests of Mr. Shafer
and Mrs. Watson on Sunday last.
