ford, on our streets last Wednes-

Mr. and Mrs. Zeats, who have been
visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
R. Mennen, went to Toronto yes-
terday.
Miss Agnes Crosbie of Seatorth spent
Wednesday of last week with Mrs,
M. Watt en route from the Presby-
terial at Blyth.
Mrs, Mawson, Mrs. Brown, Mr. Bart-
lett and i\Iaster Edgar Brawn of
Detroit spent the week -end with
Mrs. T. Jackson.
.Mrs. J. McKenzie, who spent the
past couple of months in North
Kingston, N.S,,, is 1,fsiting at Mr.
Thos. McKenzie's of town.
tfr. R. Down of Sandwich, formerly
of Clinton, 'is just recovering from
a severe attack of illness, also his
mother. We are pleased to report
he is gettingalong nicely now.
Mr. ,W. ,S. Downs was in Clifford and
Harriston over the week -enol. Mrs.
Downs who was a visitor in that
district the precious week, encore:

Huron: street. Miss ,Webster is
always so active that' she will find
it hard to take life easy as one
ought, who is not well
Rev. Air. McKegney received a long-
distance call which took hftn to
Ottawa the early part of this
week, where he will be detained for
some days yet, as the Anglican
Synod is in session in that city.
Messrs. William and Fred Match and
Willie and Frank and two drummers
of the 1{'iltie Pipe Band of town
were in Blyth on, Friday night at
the reception to Mrs. Chas. Hall,
their niece, a returned hospital
matron. .

Mrs, J, Colclough of, the, Base Lino
has been looking over some houses
in town with a view of buying.
She has her farm advertised for
sale and il,she does not sell within
Abe next couple of weeks she will
rent it as she has ,seyeral persons
wishing to lease it.
Miss Clark of The News -Record left
town on the early morning train
last Saturday for a well-earned
vacation of two weeks which, will
be spent with friends,in Thornbury,
Collingwood and Meaford. This is .
the first extended holiday Miss
Clark has taken.•for more than two
years and her, many friends wish
her bon voyage, a happy holiday
and safe return,
Captain Robert Irwin arrived at the
parental ]tome on Saturday evening
last for a short visit, before re-
suming his Art Course at Victoria
College, Toronto. Bob, by which
we know him best, enlisted for
military serviee at Sault Ste.
Marie and has spent over two years
in service overseas as an army
chaplain. Many of the boys speak

The following is the program of
the Goderieh Financial District meet-
ing and Methodist National Campaign
which is being held today in Wesley
church.
Representatives from the various
Methodist churches in the district are
in attendance.
Both dinner and supper are being
served in Wesley hall.
