Miss Maud Pickard, who had been
visiting Mrs. Wm, Jenkins and oth-
er friends in town and vicinity, re-
turned on Thursday last to her
home in Detroit.
Mrs. Walter King made ,a motor trip
to Hamilton and Niagara Falls the
end of last week, returning Mon-
day. She went with Mr. and Mrs.
H. A. Thomas of Blyth,
Misses le. 13. Ward and L. A. Stone,
who spent a holiday at their re-
spective homes, the Bernier in the
State of Maryland and the latter
at Essex, returned to . town last
week.
Mr, and Mrs. Harry Twitchell and
little Nifss Betty left this morning
for tkeir home at Windsor after
needing a couple of weeks as the
guests of the lady's sister, Mrs,
Murray, McEwan. They made the
journey by motor.

their home at South Lyon, Mich,,
yesterday after having spent sever-
al weeks visiting their brother, Dr,
J, S. Evans of town, and other
friends in Ontario,
Mr. J. A, Irwin, who weirs to Luck -
now last week to Visit his brother,
Rev. R. Fulton Irwin, left on Mon-
day, in company with iris brother,
on an extended i trip west. They
will stop at various points en
route and will probably go on to
the Cdest.

Laura and Miss Jessie West, who
have been spending a week as the
guests of Mrs. E. Warren of town,

The anniversary services . of St.
Andrew's church were held on Sun-
day last when the Rev. R. M. Dickie,
D.D., of Montreal preached eloquent
sermons both morning and evening.
Tho choir was ably assisted by Miss
Sylvester, soloist, Detroit.
Dr. Cotton of Toronto occupied the
pulpit of Trinity church on Sunday
morning last in the absence of the
pastor, Rev, Asim-levereet.

ith Dempsey of Stratford are spend-
ing their holidays with Mrs. Thos.

We are very sorry to report the
illness of Mrs. Janes Esher but hope
she may be around again, soon.
Mrs. Chas. Weeks, who Inas been
visiting at the home of her nephew,
Dr. Weekes of London, had tho mis-
fortune to fall down several steps on
the stairway and break her hip which
will lay her up for some time. Mr,
Frank Weeks went down to London
on Sunday to .see his mother.

ish Navy during a good part oe the
war, is on a visit to his parents,,

Mr. and Mrs. A. McKenzie• attended
the funeral of the•late Mr. Alexander
Elder of -Blyth on Friday of last
week. Mrs. McKenzie also visited
with friends around Auburn.
The social under the auspices of the
mission. baud was quite, a success, the
Northern Electric light plant making
the grounds almost as light as day.
It will no doubt be a good advertise-
ment for the company and was very
much appreciated by the congrega-
gation.
