ter Thomson the other day, enclosing

up." She confines her reading to

The Ball family held their annual

Miss Prances Reynolds of Seaforth,
Who; attended Collegiate in Clinton,
completed hers Normal course at
Stratford 'at mid -summer and is
engaged to teach in the Separate
Crrade school at Timmins, Ontario,
at a salary of , $900. Miss Mary
Reynolds will teach in the Separate
school at Moncton for the coming
term,
Veterans' Day at Seaforth
The Veterans' Dap Celebration at
Seaforth on Wednesday, Aug. 13th,
Civic Holiday, will, without doubt,
be the biggest affair of the year in
Western Ontario and far eclipse any
previous celebration. The Header -
son Highlanders Band, 161st Batta-
lion Band and the Clinton Kiltio
Band will furnish music during the
day and evening. The latest attrac-
tions have been secured among which
wilt be seen the Dinty Moore Circus
with Jiggs, the king of merrymakers.
These artists will later bo seen at
the Toronto Exhibition. The exhibi-
tion of ear trophies, field gems, ma-
chine guns, etc., under the supervis-
ion of the Dominion Government will
be the only one of the kind in this
vicinity. Zurich and Seaforth will
play oft in the morning and it .will
be a red hot game, and in the after-
noon a good programme of sports;
races, etc., for boys, girls, and re-
turned soldiers, piping and dancing
by the Henderson Highlanders, tug-
of-war, for which a Prize of $30 is
offered, will bring together the best
in town and the surrounding town-
ships. Medals will be presented to
the returned soldiers by Mayor Flar-
burn and council. In the evening a
band concert with vocal and instru-
mental music, piping and dancing will
be given in Victoria Park, and a box-
ing exhibition in the skating rink.
The entire proceeds .go to furnish
comfortable quarters for the veter-
ans. -Com.
