iting in town for a couple of weeks,

the guests of the former's sister.,

Mr. and Mrs. Bert Johnson left on
Monday, after having .spent some
weeks hore,'to visit Mrs. Johnson's
old home at Port Burwell..
Mrs. K. W. Chowen and Miss Bettie
left on Saturday for their home in
Hamilton after an extended visit
in Clinton, Goderith and Bayfield.
Mr. W. Anderson, a member of the
Air Force, recently returned from
overseas, has been visiting his par-
ents, Rev. and Mrs. S. Anderson,
at Ontario street parsonage.
Mrs. Rath, who has been spending
the past couple of months with
relatives in Manitoba, 'returned
home Saturday. She stopped in
Winnipeg and 'Toronto on her way
home.
Miss Ruby Irwin was up from Toron-
to over the week -end and will re-
turn the end of the week to take
charge of her father's business here
while he takes a trip west for the
good of bit health.
Mr. Russel Moore and his bride of
Fort William have been visiting
relatives in town during the past
week. Mr. Moore is a son of Mr,
and Mrs,. Wm. Moore of Toronto,
formerly of Clinton.
Mr, and Mrs, G. A. Bradshaw of
Leamington and Mr. ] and Mrs. H.
Marsh and Master Norman of De-
troit visited during the past week
with the ladies' parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Geo. Davies of Huron street.
Miss Marion Gunn of 'Toronto is
home on a visi.t. Miss Marion was
over at Columbus, Ohio, taking
part with' other girls from tho
University, in the groat pageant in
connection with ;the. Methodist Cen-
tenary.
Mr. Colin Shaw of Springfield, Ohio,
and Dr. Wm, Shaw of Morris,
Mich., visited their brother, Dr..
Shaw of town for a few days dur-
ing the past week. They came ov-
er to attend the old -boys reunion
held at Brussels Sunday, Monday
and 'Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs, James Treneor of
Medicine Hat, Alta., and their
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. J. F. Gordon, and children,
motored up from Wallaceburg and
visited Miss Washington over Vie
. week -end, Mrs, Tremeer and Miss
Washington are sisters.
Dr. J. W. Shaw, Mr.'and Mrs. J. L.
Kerr, Mr, Ernest Rozell and Mr.
and Mrs. G, A. Roberton were
amongst former Brussels residents
Who attended the re -union from
Clinton, Mr. John:Shaw was not
feeling equal to the trip and the
re -union committee noted and re-
gretted his absence..
Mr. Walter Arinstrong, son of Mr.
and Mrs, Alex. Armstrong of Tor-
onto, formerly respected citizens of
Clinton, ham been, in town during
the past week, Mr,' Armstrong
spent nearly four years overseas,
going with the first battery that
went from Toronto, and he happily
escaped without a wound. It is
eleven years sines he last visited
Clinton and he missed many of his
former assbdiate -

The anniversary services held in
the Methodist church on Sunday last
were well attended, Tho Rev. S.
Anderson of Clinton was the preach-
er of the day and gave very elo-
quent addresses both morning and
evening. The choir was ably assisted
by Miss Rogers of Stratford, who
rendered very appropriate solos at
both services.
Mr. and Mrs. Reg. Matheson and
son and Mr, and Mrs. A. Vanstone
and son Albert, of Colborne spent
the week-end,as the guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Thomas Harrison.

Bayfield and is now busy at his dut-

held their annual picnic to Bayfield

crowd and a good time, the chil-
dren enjoying the races and games.
Brumfield baseball team played a
game with Bayfield on Tuesday ev-
ening, Bayfield winning, the score
being 5-14..

from a very pleasant visit with her
daughter, Mrs. Hugh McDougall, of
Tiverton.
