weeks as the guests of the lady's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. 13. Chant,
Mr. Floody was up for the holiday
and week -end.
Rev. W. T. Cluff and his ..son Rex,
who are holidaying at Bayfield,
spent a couple of days in town
this week. The latter has not yet
fully recovered from the effects of
wounds received in France.

returned from overseas where she
has been nursing in the military.

two sons, Fred and Donald, of Win-
nipeg are in town visiting the for-
mer's mother and sisters, Mrs.

sinlons. It is seven years since
Mr. Colquhoun last visited in the '
oast,
Lt, -Col. and Mrs, John A. Cooper

er went overseas as commander of
the 198th battalion and reverted in
rank in order to get to Franco. Ha
served as transport officer in France,
and went withthe army of ocoupa-
tion to Germany. On returning to'
England he served as a member of
the court martial enquiring into the
trouble at Rhyl camp, Col, Cooper
has now been aelminted by the
Canadian Government to take,
charge of publicity work, in non-
accticn with Canadian affairs, in
the united States, with headquar-
ters in New York. Ile will assume
his new duties to the course of a
few weeks. Col, Cooper is looking
extremely well, l

Mr. Wm, Reynolds, who lived for
some years with Mr. Henry ivison,

listed with the 101st, Hurons, and
saw service in France. he returned
.last February and will bring a fair
bride from Ottawa. We understand
the has engaged,to work for MIr. Win,
McGregor.
Rev. Jas. Foote of Exeter will
preach in St. Andrew's church next
Sunday.
Rev. Dr. Aitken left on 'Tuesday' to
spend a couple of weeks at Beech -
grove Farm near Bayfield. We hope
the genial doctor and family ,will en-
joy a very pleasant outing.
Mr. R. J. Cooper's home has been
brightened by the arrival of a young
daughter. This is a most interesting
faintly, four boys, and four girls.
Mr. Chas. Shaver of Michigan has
been around here and Hensall for he
past week visiting friends,
Mrs. Stirling McPhail and daugh-
ter were welcome guests with the
lady's sister, Mrs, R. Brownlee, last
week.
Dr, Ben A. Smillie of Gilmore City,
Iowa; a former Huron boy, and his
family motored here to visit kis

Miss Mabel Whiteman of Toronto,
who spent the past three weeks with
her parents, left for the Queen. City
on Saturday to resume her position.
The Mission. Band of St. Andrew's
church has arranged for a garden
party on August 8th, Some; high
