The Zurich Herald, which has en-
tered upon) its •liwelfth year, • has
:adopted the motto : "Boost the
Home Town ; Spend Every Dollar
at Horne." It seems to be living up
'to the first part of the motto all
-right and,we do not doubt at all
but the last part as well.. There is
nothing which helps a town so much
as a live newspaper and no enter -
prize which should receive more
'hearty support from the citizens.
Some towns realize this and some
•do not. We wish our plucky little
'southern neighbor continued and in-
- .creased success.

genial Peter, we agree with him to
-tile extent of believing that the tar-

present time while other equally im-
portant matters are being neglected.

At the council meeting on Monday
evening it was decided, all council-
lors voting yea with the exception ul
Mayon Cooper and Councillors Car-
ter and 111cMurray,, that, a license
should be given A. Snazel of Goder-
icli to place bili boards in town, un-
der the direction of the council.
Several disfiguring billboards have
been discarded and it is up to the
council, which according to the
wording of the motion has full 'con-
trol of the natter, to see that oth-
ers as objectionable are not foisted
upon the town. There are two or
three here now which cannot reason-
ably be objected to, except that a
billboard cannot in the nature ot
things be as pleasing to the eye as a
green lawn or a flowering shrub, and
we have at least one place in mind
where a neatly erected billboard
might be an improvement. But, as
we said before, it is up to the coun-
cil to see that billboards are not al-
lowed to spoil the beauty of our
town. The members will be held ac-
countable if that happens.
The Londesboro Methodist
Garden Party, postponed on
account of bad weather, 'will
be held on the • Parsonage
Lawn on Friday evening, July
25th. Clinton ICiltie Band.

11: advanced by fine engineering
FIVE decided improve-
rnents have been
made in the Maxwell.
One makes it look better.
Another makes the elec-
trical unit far more effi-
cient. A third makes the
enginerun sweeter, stead-
ier, and gives it advanced
economy. A fourth adds
a comfort in seating. A
fifth produces increased
durability in the top.
You get alViaxwell now
with the famous Hot Spot
and Ram's -horn and you.
find a rare delight in
more pciwer and more
mileage at the old-time
cost.
But it isn't a new
model Maxwell. For this
car is merely the chassis
of five years ago -with all
the advances made in
fine engineering.
This is the original
chassis Model of which
300,000 have been built
to date -300,000 allalike
basically, but each one
better than the previous
one.
Thus you get a sound,
safe, extremely reliable
car, refined to a degree,
and -at the same time you
get ' the new improve-
ments. The price is
