Mr, H. Baker is in Toronto on bus-
iness this week,
Mr. Chas. Twitchell of Windsor is in
town this week.. •
Mr. Wilbur Ford of Peterboro la
home on a vacation.
Miss Jean Scott was,home for a few

Mrs. Mutch of Goderich was the

Messrs. Wilson Rath and' Harry,
Bailey of Stratford spent the week-

Mrs. Carbert of Stratford is the
guest this week of her, daughter,
Mrs. A. V. Quigley,
Mrs. R,. J. Clef has returned from' a
visit of several weeks with ..her
daughter in Hamilton.
Mrs. Jas, Hunt of Toronto is spend-
ing a week at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Chas. Hunt of town.
Miss Winnie Draper has taken charge
of the school at Porter's Hill for
the remainder of this school term.
Mr.' and Mrs. Moreton of Sandwich
motored up and spent the week -end
with the Tatter's mother, Mrs. IC11-
ty.
Mrs., Cecil Shannon and little Miss
Marion of Hamilton are visiting
the lady's sister, Mrs.'E. W. Mor-
rison.
Mrs, Atkins of Toronto is visiting,
her parents, Mr, and Mrs, Arthur
Cook, having been called home ow-
ing to her mother's accident.
Mr. John Lasham of Goderich was in
town on Tuesday. He was on his
way to Londesboro, where he re-
sided for a great many years.
Mr. John Hawkins of Hamilton was
in town over the week -end, he hav-
ing come up with the remains of
his wife, whose funeral took place
Saturday.
Mrs. Kearns, who has been spending
the winter with Mr. and Mrs. Al-
bert E. Nott of Sault Ste. Marie,
returned home Thursday and will
spend the summer here.
Mr. and Mrs. Clatsworthy and Mrs.
Clark and Mrs. McKay motored up
from Alba Craig yesterday and re-
mained for the evangelistic service
in Wesley church in the evening.
Miss M. G. Rudd accompanied her
nephew, Lieut. J. R. Rumball, who
has been spending the past week
with her, to Flint, Mich., on Tues.
day, where site is visiting her sis-
ter, Mrs. Geo, Rumball.
Dir. and. Mrs. R. J. Cantelon of Day-
ton, Ohio, have been in town dur-
ing the past fortnight, having been
called hither by the illness and .sub-
sequent death of the former's
mothers the late Mrs, Peter Can-
telon,

lrs. C. C'. Ranee of Toronto has been
in town this week. She will ac-
company her daughter, Mrs., J. G.
MacKinnon, when she leaves for
Toronto, on Saturday, her husband,
Capt. McKinnon, having takes a
post there.
Ir. and Mrs. Cr. A. Bradshaw were
in town over the week -end and
Mrs. Bradshaw is remaining with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs, George
Davies of Huron street, for a long-
er visit. Mr. Bradshaw has • taken
a position in Leamington and they
are therefore moving, from Toronto
to that town,
Miss Vira Haywood who had been
visiting her aunt, Mrs, J. W. Moore
of town and outer relatilves here-
abouts for some weefis, left last
week for Buffalo where she will vis-
it her brother before returning to
the west. Mr. Haywood.' met his
sister in London and they motored
from there to Buffalo.

Corps, United States Army, form-

recently returned from overseas, is
spending a few weeks at his home
fn Hullett. Lawrence is looking
very well indeed and as if the mil-
itary training received had agreed
with ]tint. 1Ie was employed in the
postofiice, Chicago, before going in-
to the army and 'intends returning
to that city,
Mrs. Clara Rumbali and Mr. Swarts
are leaving for Goderieb, where
they will visit for a time, Mrs.
Rumball goes on to Cleveland,
Ohio, to visit her sister later. Mrs.
Rumball is getting leave -of -absence
for a time to rest, as she is' not in
the best .of health, Mr. Ray 'Rum -
ball, local manager at :Goderich',
will. have the supervision of the
Clinton telephone office during his
mother's absence.,
