Still Busy Cutting logs.
McEwen Bros, who are cutting logs
for Mr, Fred Rumbail along side the
1,. H. and B. track, has still enough
work to keep them going for another
month or so. A big truck and teens are
drawing in logs that could not be got
in during the winter. The citizens are
busy buying the slabs for to keep- the
fires burning during the fall weather.
After The Flies.
The health 'department reported that
a "swat tate fly" campaign was due
in Clinton that was not the essential
point from a health standpoint. The
flies had become numerous in the last
few days, not due to the weather so
much as to the breeding places which
had been allowed to accumulate, and it
was for the clean-up of these that the
department officers made an earnest
plea. It was statel that contagion was
bound to result therefrom.''
New School Law.
Should the new school . act which
proves that everyone must attend
school until `6 years of age, go into
effect In the near future, 'Clinton will
have a big problem on its hands of find
leg accommodation for the pupils af-
fectel by this law. No official notificat-
ion has been received in the town as
yet and while it is thought in some
quarters that the law will not come into
effect for some Bine the general be-
lief is that it may come into force very
soon,

REGARDING TALL PAPER
Prices, in general, are on a slightly higher
level than last year, but noticeable mostly in
the lower priced goods. We have heard re-
ports of a few low priced "spots" which how-
ever, without exception have .proved to be
inferior goods or boasts made to distract at-
t ention from other shortcomings, these ex-
ceptions we ready concede.
Our new stock is being sampled and gives
promise of being as varied said attractive in
design and colorings as we have had in for-
mer years, while our values are as goodas
ewe know where or how to buy.
