Mr. W. Whitfield, a student at the
Clinton School of Commerce, from
Brussels, had the misfortune to have
the ligaments of Itis left arm torn, from
the kick of en automobile. He is a
returned soldier.

Saturday owing to Mr. Graham hav-

ham's' many friends will hope for a
complete. recovery.
Mrs. S. Kemp was called to Dundalk
on Monday owing to the death of her
sister-in-law, Airs. John Rath who died
'that morning from dropsy. Mr, Rath
is an old East Wawanosh boy and tau-
ght school there before going) to Dun -
dark. The funeral was held on Wednes-
day,

Bond, aged 83, one of the pioneers of ,
Canadian Methodism, died at his home
here after a brief illness. He had been
in the active ministry of the Methodist i
Church for 53 'years up to his retire-
ment from pulpit work ten years ago, I
Rev, Mr, Bond was first licensed as
a local preacher 101 the Methodist
Church in Blenheim Township, Water-
loo County, in his eightenth year. He
I was ordained two years later in 1860
at Kingston. His first charge was at
Woodstock in 1861. He filled pulpits
