steadily increasing.

Varna.
The Rev.'Mr. Pitts of Bayfield will
preach to the Orangemen in St.
John's, Anglican, church on Sunday
evening next, July, 4th, at seven
o'clock.
The garden party held last week
on behalf .of the Methodist church
proved a grand success. The even-
ing was fine, though a little cool, and
brought out a large gathering, for
which Varna is so well noted. The
Neilsen. Band rendered many varied
selections being very generous and
also efficient with their music. The
ladies of the congregation again
proved themselves equal to the task
as the tables were fairly groaninlg
under the good things supplied so
abundantly. The booth was kept
busy in dealing out refreslunents and
all pronounced it to be one of the•
most successful garden parties held
here. The proceeds amounted to
$214.00,
