Mr, Maefarlane was appointed to
convey the greetings of the Preaby-
tory to the Presbyterial of the W. M.
5, at the September meeting at Bay«
field.

ward . Movement committee showers
that the objective had been passed by
the amount of $3,000. The thanks
of the Presbytery were tendered to
Mr. Telford and Mr, McDermid for
their' services in this particular de-
partment:. .
The committee appointed to make
arrangements for Varna and Blake
asked that in case nothing was done
by the coming Assembly that charge
be handed over to the care of the
home mission committee and in the
meantime the committee will pre-
pare by conference with other denom-
inations for such co-operation as is.
possible and for organic union. Dr,
Fletcher resigned his charge, of
Thames Road and Kirkton and it was
agreed to make application on his
behalf to the Assembly for leave to
retire from the active work of the
ministry. The congregations will
present their case at the next reg-
ular meeting of the Presbytery.
Prof. Ballantyne of Knox College,
was nominated for the moderator -
'ship of the next General Assembly.
-The Presbytery then engaged in con-
ference on the subject, "The Message
of the Pulpit to the Unrest of the
Present," in which Dr, Larkin led in
his exhaustive style,
TIM following was unanimousily
adopted by the Presbytery: "That
boards of the church before they pre-
pare recommendations to the General
Assembly, to important posts such as
college professorships, general secre-
tary's and general superintendent's
offices, be required to send notice
thereof to Presbyteries, that they
may be able to make recommenda-
tions and suggest names."
