Gordon of Luelcnow, a well-known resident of that village died at his home last week after a somewhat 'lengthy illness. Mr. Fred Kerr of Crediton has been competing for a place on. the Olympic trap -shooting trial. At Brantford he broke seventy-nine birds out of one hundred and at Galt the week previously one hundred -and -for- ty-two out of one hundred and fifty. He won as a prize on the latter occas- ion a very handsome piece of cut glass. The monument, which is being erg ected in Henson in memory of the soldiers from that vicinity who fell in .the war, ,was delayed by a strike in the factory where it was being made and it is not expected that it will be ready for unveiling on June 3rd, as was planned. Mrs, Robert Pate, Sr., of Hullett died very suddenly one evening last week at her home on the 14th of Hullett towneship. The' funeral took place from the family residence on Monday week. The services were conducted by the Rev. George Tel- ford of. Blyth and the retrains were laid ht Union cemetery. Mrs. Pate is survived by two sons: Robert S., on the homestead and Thomas also of the 14th. Donald Patterson, age seventy for fifteen years County Engineer of Huron, died at his home near Au- burn early Friday morning. He had been ailing for 'sone months, The late Ma. Patterson was for many years interested in municipal polities, being prior to his apponitment as engneer; a member of the East Wa- wanosh Township Council and of the Huron County Council, , He retired as engineer a year ago, and was suc- ceeded by his son, Roy.
