Earner Clinton Girl Married,
A quiet wedding took place at the
hone of Mr, and Mrs, •J. W. Moore
Victoria Street, Goderich, at noon, of
Wednesday, Nov, 23rd, when their only
daughter, Merle Myra was united in
marriage to Mr, George Wallace Lot-
tridge, of Detroit. The ceremony wa
performed by Rev. 11, D, Moyer, pastor
of North St. Methodist church, The
bride entered the room on the arm of
her father .to the strains' of Mendel,
ssohn Wedding March, played by Miss,
Etta 'Mc9rlite, cousin of the bride.
Only the immediate friends being pre-
sent, After the ceremony, the wedding
party repaired to the dining -room,
wiserea. sumptuous wedding breakfast
was served. After which the happy
couple left on the 2.26 train for Tor-
onto and New York. On their return
they will reside in Detroit.
makes the following reference to' • a
former Rector of Middleton Parlsh;—
The young people of Christ Church
5 here held a surprise party in honor of
Rev W. H. and Mrs Dunbar at the
Rectory last evening, The young peo-
pie assembled first in the basement of
the church, where everything was got
in readiness for a real good time, after
which they repaired t othe rectory
and practically took the house by
storm. That they were prepared for a
full evening's enjoyment was quite
evident from the pleasant way in which
the young people took possession, and
by the nmerous parcels which they
carried. /The feature of the evening
was a shower of miscellaneous house-
hold articles, . each bearing the name
of the one who donated it together with
a rhyme, the reading of which caused
much amusement. The rector heartily
thanked the company for their muni-
ficent gifts and for the great pleasure
I of having an evening with the poets,
+after which a program of music and
games was carried through and which
was thoroughly enjoyed. Tea, sand-
wiches and cake were served in abuntt-
ance before the company separated,.
which was not until a late hour,
