RHEUMATIC PAINS
HAVE DISAPPEARED
As a Result of Treating the Trou-
ble Through the Blood
The chief syptptom of rheumatism is
pain. The most successful treatment
is the one that most quickly relieves
and banishes the pain. Many rheu-
matic people suffer pains that could
be avoided by building up the blood;
when rheumatism is associated with
thin blood it cannot be corrected
until the blood is built up,
lMlr, Ed. Hall, Mails -a -Dieu, N, S.
suffered front rheumatism for years,
but ivas more fortunate than many
victims of the disease• for he found a
remedy that so built up his entire
system that he is now free from
rheumatism. Mr. Hall says: "1 was
taken down with rheumatism, and at,
times was under the treatment .,of
several of the best doctors in Cape
Breton, but they held out no hope for e
my recovery from the trouble. I was t
confined to bed for three years and a

FACTS ABOUT CANADA
Canada imports every year about
sixty-five mittign pountLs of ()Ander
twine used in harvesting. It Is stated
that the straw of the flax grown in the
Canadian West for seed, would alike
that guantity of binder twine.
The capital invested in the canning,
evaporating and preserving industry in
Canada amounts to about eighteen mil-
lion dollars. Most of the plants are
situated in Southern Ontario.
There are large linseed oil mills in
Western Ontario, much of the flax seed
used being brought from the Prairie
Provinces. About 20,000 barrels of
oil are produced yearly.
Beekeeping in Manitoba is on the in-
crease, due to the abundance of honey -
yielding flowers and the long hours of
suthmer sunshine, which allow the bees
to gather freely. In t919 the honey
crop averaged 90 pounds a hive,

DESIRABLE CANADIANS

English children who recently came to Canada on board
the "Empress of France." Their names are: Thomas
Marshall Howard, Sydney Ashton,, John Kincaid, Lawrence
King, Edwin Coleman and Billy Coleman,
sure; but it remained a curious rath-
er than a practical achievement. In
.1919 a German, Prof. Der uis, dis-
covered a, way to liquefy allkindsof
coal and even peat and . wood. His
process requires a temperature of
400 degrees, centigrade, but is said
not to be expensive, and It produces
a liquid that can be refined to pe-
troleum of almost any consistency,
and that contains scarcely any waste.
Derthelot's artificially made coal oil
was almost 40 per cent. waste. It
is evident that the discovery at once
doubles the fuel value of coal, espe-
doubly glad that you have a wife to

to button and some fnen's wives'
blouses have no batons to button.
Some men's wives' blouses which
have buttons on to button don't care

not.
Some men don't have any wives
with buttons on to button.

Many times the failure of securing
a satisfafetory winter egg yield is
,due to neglect of the pullets early in
the fall. The ordinary pullets begin
laying at from six to seven mouths
of age, and many farmers get a few
pullet eggs in October and November,
followed by little or no production in
December or early January. This
frequently is due to a change in
roosting quarters or being over-
crowded and underfed in the poultry
house.
Place In• Winter Quarters Early:
To get the beet results the pullets
should be placed in winter. quarters
by November 1st. Before that time
the henhouse should be .thoroughly
