Former Clinton Girl Married.
The wedding took place at the home
of Mr, and Mrs. L. E. Doherty, Strat-
ford, on Saturday July 2nd of Miss Mab
el Olive Doherty sister of Mr. L. E, Doh
erty, to Mr. William Reginald McGiffen
of Windsor Rev. J. W. Magwood offic-
iating. After a motor honeymoon tntp.
Mr. and Mrs. McGiffen will reside at
Windsor. The bride was a former resid-
ent of town, -
Under, Adolescent Act.
The special committee appointed by
the Ontario legislature to deal with ed-
ucational matters, will devote itself to
determining the type of training that
should be provided for older pupils und-
er the adolescent school act. in order
to acquire first-hand knowledge of the
work being done in the various summ-
er schools, the coinmittee has decided
to pay them a visit,
Z3rand-Daughter Graduates as Nurse.
Among the names of the graduating
class of nurses at the Bethesda Hospit-
al London which took place last Wednes
day appears the name of Jean Mason,
grand -daughter of our highly respect-
ed and pioneer citizen, James L. Shep-
herd. The Hospital is under the direct-
ion of the Salvation Array, A happy,
event following tit t1i lilony was the
reception terldefe'd the graduates by
the nurses -in -training at the nurses'
honie, ltergreen avenue, The drawing
'rooifi was cool and delightful with many
-palms, ferns and flowers and the ver-
andas were most inviting with their
soft lights and decorations of flags and
flowers. Miss Marshall find Miss Dean
welcomed the guests the graduates
standing near with their lovely trophies
'of flowers to receive the congratulat-
ions and good wishes of many friends.
During the evening Miss Dorothy Dean
played sonie charming piano numbers
and there were several congratulatory
speeches. A buffet supper was served
by a group of the pupil nurses. Miss
Mason's parents was foaaner residents
of Clinton and their old friends are
glad to hear -of their daughter's suc-
cess.

The 1921 Voter's Lists are to be
printed in the same form as list year
and the names of the ladies and others
entitled to vote at provincial elections
only will not appear. The ,municipal
clerk, however, is to prepare the list
of voters of this class and have them
ready whenever require&.
Arrange Cheap Fares.
The minister of labor said that the
department intends to make the usual
arrangements with the railways to take
men at reduced rates from eastern
points for harvest work on the prairies.
The department also intends this ysar
to relieve this unemployment situation
in British Columbia by arranging simil-
iar facilities for lien out there: to reach
the Prairie Provinces and return ?`ter
the harvesting and threshing are over.

Juniors Won from Stratford.
On Tuesday Evening Clinton Juniors
won from Stratford here by a score of
12--8 in a game that composed of
walks, hits errors and good and bad
ball, Stratford got away with 3 runs In
the first innings by three walks one
error and 1 hit. They got another run
in the second and i in the 6th, in the
uinth,innings they secured 3 runs when
the Clinton boys played safe on throws
owing to the darkness. Fred McTagg-
art had 8 strikeouts and walked 5 and
had 4 hits market up against hila. John
ston who pitched 5 innings had 3
strikeouts walked 2 and was landed on
for 14 hits. He also hit a player. Ver-
ner who finished the game had 1 strike
out and a walk and 2 Hits marked up
against him. Mr.Mason of Stratford and
C. Draper of town were the umpires.
