of Blyth bowlers on Thursday afternoon
and in the evening a third rink came
down from Blyth, but were unsuccess-
ful on the round, A pleasant tine was
spent at the green.

Won Exon Summerhill
A public school team journeyed to
Summerhill last Thursday evening and
won at baseball by a score of 13,--3,
There was lots of fun despite. the big

Last League Game
The last League Football game will
be played hero on Saturday evening,
when Tuckersmith plays here, ,If the
visitors were to win it would make a
tie for Seaforth, Kinburn and Tucker -
smith. Everybody turn out and see
the last League game of the .season,
A Tie Game
On Friday evening last Dubllrl Foot-
ball team and Clinton played their
league football snatch. The score was
1--1 when the rain came down and
time was called with about 7 minutes
to play. Clinton had the hardest kind
of luck in not scoring.
Many Were at Dublin
Many members of St. Joseph's
church attended the special services
for the district, when Rev. Father
Forristal, of London, preached at the
Holy Name Rally. The parishes of Log-
an, St. Columbian, Seaforth, Clinton
and Blyth are in the District, Rev. Fr.
Hogan assisted at the service.

A Pair From Ontario West.
In the late• seventies r little Scotch
boy and a little Irish bo) were kicking
their heels not so many miles away
from each other in the adjacent Ontar-
io counties of Huron and Perth; Willie
(who had been born at Norwich) at
Exeter and Artie in his native town of
Andersn. Artie was two years the older
in due course each lad entered high
school, William at Clinton and Arthur
at St. Mary's. Then they attended To-
ronto University and, true to form, ob-
tained their degrees at the same age,
Arthur in 96, William in 98, Both stud-
ied law, and both went west to practise
it, Both wept into politics. Both were
elected to the douse of Commons in
1908. And both have become premiers
One is on his way to England as the
prime Minister of Canada. The other,
"Billy" Martin, has just been returned
to power as the pannier of Saskatch-
ewan.,
The trouble occurs meetly during the
hot seasons, and is confined to infants
between the ages of from four to twenty

Exeter Drops Out.
The Exeter Base Ball team has drop-
ped out of the Junior Series. In both
games played with Exeter, the Associa-
tion has disqualified two of Exeter's
association of Fall Fairs at Toronto re-
cently to appoint a special constable to
prevent admittance or operation of any
of the different classes of fakirs who
have been infesting country fairs in
the past. Superintendent Wilson stat-
ed that if there are any fakirs operating
on the grounds the Board of Directors
will be held responsible and the fait
will lose its grant from the Government
in consequence,
Second Year Results in Arts
• The second year results of the Fac-

Last Friday afternoon; the Exeter
Juniors cattle up and won the game
from Clinton by a score of 10 to 6.
The Clinton boys gave a poor exhibi-
tion at times when the visitors pilled
up their runs, and at other tines the
Exeter boys could do nothing. Norris
pitched 6 innings and Frank Mutch

Temperance Convention.
Those who attend the annual Tem-
perance, Convention which is to be
held in Clinton, on Wednesday after-
noon and evening, ,June 22nd, will
have the opportunity of hearing Dr.
George C. Pidgeon, of Toronto, pastor
of Bloor St. Presbyterian church and
President' of the Ontario Social Ser-
yice Council, as he will speak in the
afternoon on "Social service plans and
opportunities' 'and in the evening on
"The New' Citizenship.". The reports
of the officers will review the work of
the past year and outline plans for the
future, An interesting item of the pro-
gramme Is a banquet at 6 o'clock fol-
lowed by after dinner speeches. All
the churches of the County are entitled
to send delegates and any person will
be made welcome. Your minister has
received programmes. Huron 'County
stands well to the front in agressive
social service work, and should be kept
there.

A Kincardine despatch says: The
Electric Light and Water Commission
met behind closed doors Wednesday
evening, Engineer Flannery of the
Hydro Commission was closeted with
the Commission, The discussion was
over the Hydro rates that have been
just handed out, The power rates $48,
per horse -power. This, the Commis
sioners claim, is positively prohibitive
for the manufacturers, James Mal-
colm, head of the Andrew Malcolm
Furniture Company, and Walter Ander-
son, manager of the saltie company,
both put up strong protests. Mr, Flan-
nery said that was the rate and he did
not see how they expected the Hydro
