Rey. (Capt.) Will Fingland of
Mimico gave an excellent address,
touching briefly on the Cerat War,
and those who paid the supreme sac-
rifice. •Mr. McLaren of Toronto, re-
presenting the Social service Coun-
cil, gave a forceful address on
Country and Conimuinty, Life. Mr,
Hari;, else of Toronto, who repre-
sented the Provincial Government,
under an Act of tvhich'•the hall was
built and froiit which a grant will
be given, after an inspection, ad-
dressed the gathering and 'gave sonic
very sound advice as to the carrying
on of Social and Community work
in rural districts. Mr. Harry McGee
of Auburn sang.,several of his -comic
songs, and, was given hearty encores.
Other entertainers were Mrs. Irwin
and the Hodge Orchestra, McKillop,
Rev R.
Osborne gave a short an -
dress, also Reeve Armstrong, made
a few remarks, Rev. Jas. Abery
acted as chairman.
In thesvery near future a Memor-
ial tablet will be erected to the
memory of our soldier' boys, who
died that we 'might live. ,
The S. S. of Knox .Pres. Church
will hold their annual Christmas con-
cert in the New Hall on Thursday
evening of this week.
A a special meeting of the Londes-
boro Orange Lodge on Thursday ev-
ening the following letter alas pre-
pared and was afterwards forwarded
to Mrs, II, Little:

unselfish ways made him beloved by
all Who knew hint, lie is survived by
his widow, who was formerly Miss
Ida Cowan, and one little daughter,
Dorothy. Thefuneral took place on
Saturday afternoon to the Union
eediutory, conducted by Rev. Mr, Ge-
jycrne, assisted by Rev, Mr, Abery.
