Mr. J. Ryder who left Clinton for
his old hone in England several

Miss Ward, principal of the Clinton

for her home clown in the State of
Maryland, being called home by
the illness of her mother, Miss
Ward had only partially recovered
from an illness herself and was

Jamaica, - from which island he
only returned a short time ago.
Mr. J, M. Graham, who came from
Toronto to take a position on the
•staff of the Royal Bank, is some-
thing of a hockey player. The
manager of the Toronto team to
which he belonged wrote the head
•office of the Royal Panic, on hear-
ing of his intended removal, to
ask that he be left in the city,
But that official heartlessly replied
that it was bunk office staffs he
was interested in building up, not
hookoy teams."' But in this_ ease
Clinton wins a good hockey' play-
er. Who will bo a welcome midi -
tion to the town team, Hockey, af-
ter all, is pretty generally played
