Miss Harriet Gandier has been vis-
sting for a few days with Mrs.
George Connell.
On Tuesday evening the grown-ups
o fthe sixteenth had a game of foot-
ball with the coating -ups, this being
the first game of the season. It was
a fast game and resulted in a win
for the dads in a score of 1-0. Mr.

certificate was presented to Mrs. J.

Mr. Wassail, agent of the Canad-
ian branch of British and Foreign
Bible Society visited Kippen.mt Sun-
day and spoke in the interest of its
work, in the Presbyteiran church.
His address was very instructive. Ile
dwelt at some length on the advan-
tage it was to the foreigner coming
to our shores to be stet by a repre-
sentative of the Society and be pre-
sented with a cony of some part of
the Scriptures in their own language.
Mr. Wassail was for two years a
prisoner of war in Germany so he
knows what it is to be a stranger in
a strange land. He also spoke in
the Methodist church on Monday ev-
ening and showed scone very inter-
esting views • of the immigrants ar-
riving at some of the ports anti al-
so some views of farming in the
west and the mining camps at Co-
balt and other interesting places.
