the service afforded via the'Canadion

appeal.

ronto to Winnipeg, with connections
at the latter point for Manitoba,
Saskatchewan, Alberta and British
Columbia points, The Tourist Cars
on these trains are of exceptionally
fine design, thoroughly modern in ev-

electric lighted, and include the many gars,
little conveniences heretofore embod-

In fact, the only difference between
the two Cara is in the upholstering,

THE OLD, RUSTY GERMAN GUNS
Clinton, Feb. 150, 1021.
Editor News -Record:
To say the least they don't add
Much dignity to our town, I was
somewhat amused at Captain McKeg-
ney's letter in The News -Record last
week. He tried to make it appear
that the old rusty. Gorman Gums were
Canadian landmarks. Now, Sir, I foil
to see the point. 1f they were Brit-
ish guns, given to the town as a. sou-
venir frau the Crimea or South Afri-
ca battle fields and held a prominent
position in our town ever since the
wars referred to, they might be called
Canadian landmarks, There was an
old landmark on I'J:uron street razed
to the ground last fall, that didn't
cause much comment or excitnient.
I don't think that Huron's Colonel, the
gallant Captain, or the men who
crossed 'the English Channel and
,fought, bled and died to preserve our
home and liberties, God
bless them, there is .nothing.
too • good for them, their wishes
should be colilplied with, still I don't,
think there is one of them, as some
would try to make us believe has
much adoration for the Old Rusty
German Guns, that no doubt killed
hundreds of British and Canadian
soldiers, There are not many people
who would wear a dagger on their
breasts, suspenedd by a cord round
their necks, that had been used by
the hand of an assassin to stab, say
their mother, or some clear friend, to
death. Tho old rusty German guns
andthe dagger are int the same eater
I understand the crticisin
about moving the guns was
started by seine parties who
failed to arose the Chair;

spleen, which bears the ear marks of
Persecution, or trying to get even
