The grippe._ has been visiting a
good many homes the past couple of
weeks'. The Roxboro ' school • was
closed a couple of days last week,
the teacher having a slight attack.
But he was at itis post Monday morn-
ing again.
The mail couriers say they have
experienced the heaviest' roads for
the past three winters. Not many
'are envying them their job these cold

The :`McKillop council has adopted
oPted
a new. plan for keeping the roads in
good winter shape. Instead of using
the township snow plow they are
plowing -them with;, .:the ordinary
walking • plow and then ' use the -
throw -out disc. This seems to keep
the track from getting too highand
dies not make it heavy travelling
for the horses.
Quite a number took in the 'pro-.
gram of the ;Jubilee .Singers held in
the Methodist Churoh,Seaforth, on

Mr. R. J. Cooper, ,tsholives on the.
second farm north of Kipper!, on the
Tuckersmitlrside of 'the London
Road, was the purchaser of Mr. Hugh
McCully's farm at the sale last Wed-
nesday. As the corner` of this farm
touches on' the corner of his 'home
farm it gives Mr:: Cooper two one -
hundred -acre plots of choice farming
land in close proximity to each other.
We wish the purehaser every success
in this new venture. The price, we
,understand, was 87,000.00.
The meeting held by the Horti-
cultural Society in_ the Methodist
school` room last Thursday evening
was quite successful, over $20.00 be-
ing raised to help on the good work
of making this old earth snore beau-
tiful.
Mr. Robt. Cooper on Friday even-
ing• last entertained a number of his
friends and 'neighbors by a`progres-
sive -euchre party. A very pleasant
evening was spent, which broke up
in the "wee , snta' 'oors eyelet the
twal."

most severe- storm of the winter, ' a
very high wind from the south-east
