Editor the News -Record: As I see stories of .the fire which occurred recentlyup herb thought thought 1 would drop you a -few lines,telling some- thing of our experiences. We have, been through three fires -since we came up here but this was the worst or;e. At 4 o'clock on Wednesday, afternoon, Septeinber 27th, we could' not sed anything for smoke. Our house was full'•of smoke and our eyes were all swollen:and.sore. Ifought . fire from Wednesday morning till Thursday night.: Got my hand cut badly and had to have three stitches in it. My wife tried to get out to our daughter but•bhe road was a bed of fire so we came back, and then the people started to come up from Hail_ eybury., You cannot begirt to think what they were like after standing in water for five or six hours. , Our house was full for three days caring for, the :poor people. A lot of things have been sent up but we need a lot more, especially of children's clothing. GOSHEN CHURCH RE -OPENED ON 'SUNDAY ' After being closed for Sive weeks for repairs the Goshen Methodist, congregation ret -opened their church on Sunday, • last, The Rev. W, N. The Choir of the church assisted by the pastor furnishes/ splendid music.
