Carter, whose maiden name was Sarah Broadbent, was born in New York •State, but she had been a resident of 'Clinton for about fifty- one years. She ancl her now bereft husbhnd celebrated their golden wedding ahniversary, less than a year ago. One daughter survives, who carefully nursed her mother throfigh her last lilness.
