The citizens of this village were.
shocked when they beard of the loss
of the Government 'boat, Lambton,,
which went down in that-laststorm
in 'Lake Superior, the cominandex,
being an old Hayfield boy, born and
raised in the village, in the person
of AIexander Brown,'He has been
in the service for the past -twenty-
five years. His wife and family left
here •about; seventeen' years ago for,
Owen Sound, where they have since
made their" home. He leaves` a wi-
dow, four ' daughters and one son,
Mrs. Wigle of Windsor, Mrs. 3 John
Parker of this village and Ivy,Eleie
and Jack at home, also one. bratheu;
Robert .Brown of this ,village, and
a -sister, Agnes .of Detroit.
