Two :Eggs In One
In the Review Office windcw .'s an
egg within au, egg. It was laid Tues-
day by one of Mr. ihIaet.n 'Stewart's
Leghorn hens. The outside egg
measures 10 inches by 7 inches to
circumference, and the inside egg is
a good sized hen's egg enclosed it
another perfect shell. The weight
was 5 ounces aster some of the

We are informed that when
several district farmers started
prep!iations for syrup -Making they
discovered that all removable iron
parts of their arches. or bush
furnaces had been stolen, pre:nm
ably by parties wishing to help satis-
fy the wartime demand for scrap
and, incidentally, put a few extra
shekels in .their own, jeans. .It was
a mean stunt, to 'say the least.

stalled, Anderson's Flax, Mill is now
huming •smoothly on a two -shift
schedule.

A substantial loss was sustained

County Grants
The Warden's comittee of Gounty
Council met on Tuesday a$teraon
and approved patriotic grants of
$2,000 to the Canadian War Services
Fund and 400 to the Toronto Tele-
gram's British War Victim's Fund.
These amounts were made available
at the January session. of County
Council when $27,500 was voted for
the 19441 war effort, the same as
last year. Toms is one-half mill on
the county tax rate. Payment of
accountst amounting to $11560 also
was authomized for the fitting out of
the stage of the new recreation hall
at Port Albeitt. Airport. A sum up to
$2000 was set aside for tills work at
the January session atter repreaetit-
ration,s had been mode by Mr. Ley,
X.M.C:A. director.
