The Same Here, Brother!
The following sentiments of the
.editor of The Tavistock Gazette will
receive the endonsation of every
eftenghful metoriat, we are sure:
Driving along the highway at night
there are times when we wished we
had a Houdini and could change our
car into a ten-ttoa tank for about
two minutes, or less. How we would
dearly delight in crashinr head-on
into a car, the driver of which failed
to dim his headlights when request-
ed to do so by our depressing the
.headlight beam an our own car. The
consequences of a tank and a ear
meeting head-on would be most
drastic, we'll admit, but those smart
guys who think they own the road

Discipline
Through Ridicule
E. C. Gray apparently pins great
faith on the system of enforcing
discipline through ridicubt at Palm-
erston High Sehoc:, and, from all
evidences, it carries some effect.
Last year 315 "penalized" some of
the students for misclemeauoe by
having them wear ribbons, over
their school crest, with a Latin
phrase that, literally translated,
meant "I stand to dismace." More
recently this week In fact, he had
another case of insubordination to
deal with. Some of the "young
ladies" refused to participate in an
open-air march part of their physical
training exercises. The principal's
fertile mind tonjured up another
"ridicule" penalty, and said lassies
had to wear, during classroom hears,
white paper at with the words
"I am a sissy" on thern.
