Brussels has two boys serving
with the Royal Navy. At the time
Carl Plum's name wall added to our
active service list we ,stated that as
far as we knew he Was the first
from here to join, that branch of the
service. Our attention has been
drawn to the font that Gordon Work
man enlisted in the Royal Nas'y in
the spring of 1940 and 4s now at
Windsor.
Funeral of 'Mrs. W. E.
Haist Held At Brussels
The funeral of the late Mrs. W, E.
Hoist, who passed away in Toronto
in. her 73rd year, was held from ner
late residence, A!Ubent° Street, on
Saturday afternoon. The Poll*
bearers were—William Gillespie,
Duncan. ,M'dDonald, Jno, Crerar, Jno,
Simmons, Charles, Davidson and H.
Chamisloa. Services at the home
and graveside were conducted by
the Rev. C. L. Lewis of the . United
Church. Interment took place in
the damily' plot in Brussels
Cemetery.

Thomas Clark
The community in whish he spent
his entire lifetime mourned the
death of Thomas Clark who passed
away at Clinton hospital on Friday,
March 7th, in his 68th year follow-
ing a severe and lengthy illness.
The late Mr. Clark was born and
lived ,until the time of his death on
his farm on the 5th concession of
Morris. '
With a ready wit and humour the
deceased was widely and favourably
known, a good neighbor always wil-
ling to lend ,a.;helping hand where
it was required, he will be missed
