it and no doubt will keep many a

Here it is—
I3ngland, Jan. 21th
Dear Mother and Dad
I received three Irma
from ou
and also one a yhton and
Nora, Florence Me:N ug
Tom Gamsnage all in one day so I,
did pretty well
Well Mother I hope you and Dad
are well and I think about you every
day and nigbt, I alai well. I have
lost about twenty lbs., so i feel
considerable: better and mother this
war life sure makes a new man out
of most of the soldiers.
I have really never been ire any
danger yet but you can hear the
bombers going over and it is really
terrible to see the beautiful build-
ings all lying in ruins.
We are not supposed to say anY-
thing about the war.
I suppose you have lots of snow.
Our winter is nearly over so they
.tell us. We have lots ot rain and.
always seems so dame here.
I got a new Station wagon yesten
day so my officer and I ride in
style. This batman job Is sure a
good one. I sea plenty of country
and have plenty of fun for nothing.
I drove about 200 miles a day and
the roads are terrible.
Say mother you were asking about
parcels. I only received the one
dhe Legion sent me and I sure en-.
toyed it.
Love +to all around good old
Brussels and I sure do love to get
letters fromthe home town.
P.S.-1 am enclosing our Menu, I
composed:
O Lord we would like to thank thee
For what we are about to eat

Into some other kind of meat,
