Next week the Red, Cross is mak- ma a nation-wide appeal for $5,000: 000. Of course that includes Brussels. How are we going to respond? Last week we mentioned conditions in Great Britain, of its sufferings and sacrifice. While they are suffering in a way that beggars description, we are reading and hearing of so much destruction. It is but a thin line between mental and, actual suffering, yet there is a distinction. n Great ;Britain today, people no Tonger count their cash or earthly goods of material value, their gory ei istance is at stake. There have been so many de• ,amend* on our generosity during the past year of the war, that gibing is now going to hurt, and from now on it will mean sacrifice. We mean this, sneaking as a whole. We know that there are many who can still give freely without hurting, bet many meal mora will be giving this time who will have to deny themselves of something to do so. In Brawls tot instance we have been carrying on during the mar, much the same as before. Farmers are not getting the "big prices" so many predicted would be paid for their farm pro- duce and yet many other things have become more expensive, with the result the dollar has not been easier to get yet it does not go as tar as before. Thus, giving will now be a sacrifice and in many cases a hardship, yet it will surprise us greatly if we don't find that this call will be responded to even better than the last, The old adage "Misery lovers company" will prove very true in the days to come for we will all want to share a part of the burden of misery, showered on. an innocent people, by a 1us+sur, despicable and hateful monsire, ClassifiedAds FOR SALE - 35 Head of Stockers.
