L. ilussey, M,A., 3•I)', of it0itciieLA United lhurclt, The choir of Llto.' church was, assisted in the morning service by Mrs, Walker of Brussols who rendered trtue•i appreciated solos and in the evening the. mixed 1 quartette of the 03ruseel'e United Church rendered two selections, In the morning the anthem was "Sing unto the Lord" and the evening anthem Was "I hexa :i the voice 01 Jesus say " '111119 n t'he morning, Mr. Hussey chose for his text Hebrew 12:27. Ho pointed out that the chief function le to point people to the things that cannot 5be shekel down or des- troyed. Christians are urged to place value on the things that are Permanent. Power and wealth are among the perishable while the church must point to the enduring things as Jesus did when he scald, "Lay net 'Lap for yod.r.aves treasur• es on earth," Goodness in the, human heart cannot be driven out, the sacrifice of the blood of martyrs is the seed of The church. The ; soul of an individual or a nation 'will rise again and like the Cross Ot Christ will eternally endure. In the ebening Mr. Hussey chose his text from Romans I„ "I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ." The Church has a peculiar message for . the world of to -day, a gospel of rtglhteousnees and justice. It also provides us with our ideal social' ord'e'r. We need to come closer to the Kingdom of God to make the world a better place to live in. 3t answers the deepest questions of man's mind. The gospels saves us from fear and. saves"lis_into life eve:listing. Many visitors 'were present at both services. The services of the past two Sundays have been an inspiration to the congregations and many old associations with Duff's Church have been renewed. The observance of the 75th milestone in the history of the church will c'n- elude with the anniversary supper on Tuesday evening, Sept. 1701. The minister and officials' of the church appreciate the efforts , of all who have contributed to the success or this anniversary. Miss Margaret Ramsay of Hamil- ;*44"..
