Funeral Held Here Of Miss Margaret Hislop The funeral of Miss Margaret Hislop of Ayr, took place from the ohne of Mr. James McFadzean on Saturdlt.y afternoon. Mise 1115101 was in her 69th year. She was born near Walton; the sister , of John Hislop of Walton, and Mihs Mabel and Belle, of Ayr. Rev, S. Kerr of Melvelle Presbyterian Church, con- ducted, the services at the home and graveside. Decker, Hallsstead, P.A., and Mrs. A. Kent of New York, N,Y., I and two brothers,, J. A. McDonald, Newark, N.J., and Wm. McDonald i of 'collard, Alta. Funeral services were conducted from the home by Rev. J, E. Taylor , I of the Presbyterian enureh oe which the deceased was. a member, on Fri - 1 day May 17tH with interment being made in the Cranbrook cemetery. Stevenson, well-known resident of Grey township, near the village of Ethel, died Wednaday lash in his nth year. He was born at Cookeville on the 7th of April 1853, a x001 of the late William :Stev- enson and. Jane. Worth. When but a child his parents pioneered in farming in Huron. They homestead- ed in Grey where the hamlet of Henfryn is located. The family consisted of three daughters and tw•o sons, Thomas C. being the longest to survive. He attended the township school and followed the occupation of (farming, In 1880 he married Kate Mittleholtz who pre- deceased him in 1932. They farmed in Grey near Ethel village, their farm and later -erected buildings becoming one of the homes in ,the o finest farm township. Thomas Stevenson was a member of the United Church• and in polities was Conservative with a leaning to independent mind in national af- fairs: He 1va0 above all a home lover and his activities and inter- ests centred mainly in the home farm. Kerr. The president, Airs. Robe Davie - son, presided and opened the meet- ing with invocation,and prayer. Mrs, R. McWhinney, Dunganar led the .merging devotions on the theme "God Is Love" declaring that Christianity was a religion of love;, she spoke of God's love far His, people and His command to loge one another, Mrs. Bennett, Dna. .gann0n, led in prayer. Parker, in her address of welcomed explained the word "Welcome" tea mean "To receibe with gladness." and assured all present that the Brussels Auxiliary greeted friends and fellow workers with that spirit.
