ing of the Institute Ode. The Roll
Call was answered by a Christmas
verse, Mrs. Bent rremiugway, sec:

ious meeting. Busineoa was dis-
cussed and it was decided to name
the Institute "The Majestic Wo-
men's Institute of Grey." Sev-
eral Clu'nstmas Carols were sung,
Mite. Harold Speirs gave a reading
"Why the rChimes Rang," which
was very interesting. Mrs. Kenneth
Shurrie gave a much enjoyed dem-
onstration, on Cake Decorating. Any-
one interested is invited to attend
these meetings. The next meeting
to he held at the home 01 Mrs. Ken-
neth Shurrie, Thursday, January 11.
Launch was served and the meeting

Both old and young gathered to-
gether here on Saturday afternoon
to meet Santa Claus who was paying
his .annual visit. All gathered at the
Town.' Hall, about 2.30 p.m, when
ehetRev. A. M. Grant, who was
acting as chairman, led in singing
ruin.' old and well known carols.
These were followed by lantern
Slides which were much, enjoyed.

thechildren were singing "Jingle
Bells,' Santa arrived amid much
excitement. After lustily greeting

end at their respective homes. Mrs.
J. 0. Hardie, Molesworth, is visit-
ing with Mr and Mrs. J. W. Doug-
las; Mrs. R, McLaughlin left for
Oshawa where she is to spend the
winter months; Miss Edith Martin,
nurse -in -training, returned to Lon-
don atter spending the past Sew
weeks at her home here.

the company for eleven years, be-
ginning her world under Mr, W.
S, 1VIcKercher. On two occasions
,she 1.mddr,essed the Underwriters'
Convention in Toronto of which
the company is a member. J. A.
Bryan of Fordwich read an address
and W. H. Greig,-Gorrie, presented
her .with an occasional chair to
which Miss Schaal), in a few well
chosen words, suitably replied, The
evening was spent in playing Chin-
ese checkers and lunch was. served
by the host and hostess.
The regular monthly meeting of
the W. M. S. was held in the school-
room of the United Church. The
program was arranged by Mrs, H.
Cooke, and the devotional period
was in charge of Mrs A„ J. Sander-
son, Mns. J. Lovell had charge, of
the scripture reading, "The Christ -
mas
h istm.as Story." Mrs. D. S. McNaughton
favored with a solo, "There's' Music
in the Air." The program was an
all members program, "The Shen -
herd's, Story," by Mr's. (Rev.) A,
Grant. ',The Parable of two miss-
ionary societies," Mrs, R. Shocks
"The Fist Chr'isltanas," Mrs. 1.
.Lovell; a poem, "Sohfetlninv to live
for," Mrs. D. W. Rae, and "The
Second Adbent," Mrs, D. S. Me-
Naughiton; "Ohr'istiaar Steward-
ship," Mrs. H. Coolie.
