And do your cards early this yearl WAVE you planned your photo- -Lit graphic Christmas card yet? No true camera fan would consider any other kind—but it's wise to see that they are prepared early, in 'plenty of time for mailing before December 25. Any appropriate snapshot caa,be made into a Christmas card but the best cards are those with a picture especially made for the purpose. For example, a snapshot of the family 'carrying Christmas tree ornaments, henging up stock- ings, or putting a Christmas wreath on the door. Such pictures can, of course, be taken long before Christmas. The most ingenious pictures in- clude the greeting. Thus, Johnny can be shown writing "Merry Christmas" on his own blackboard or on a frosty windowpane. The baby can bo shown building a greet- ing with his A -B -C blocks. Of coarse, You build the greeting, then step aside—but that doesn't show in the picture. Cards can be simple, or quite elaborate. The simplest type is an inexpensive cut-out mat or mask, behind which the snapshot is pasted. In another type, the picture and greeting are printed together on one sheet of photographic paper. You can do this with one of the Christmas card lits sold at camera stores, or any photodnisher can do it for you at modeet cost. And—speak- ing of cost—photographic cards run no higher than ordinary printed or engraved greetings that have far less personal quality. Now is the time to start on your 1939 earde. Do it early—while you have plenty of time to do it wetl— and it will be twice the fun. 259 John van Guilder ATT 2c sex a Huron - Re N; Ement Recr+...t: its 'Wanted The Middlesex & Huron Regiment will commence its home training in the near future. They will train two nights per week. Recruits will now be accepted providing they can pass a physical examination. If enough recruits can be secured in and around Brussels, a training post will be established here. The pay is on the nonpermanent basis, two nights constituting one day's pay. This is not recruit- ing for active service overseas. A number of the non- permanent militia of Canada is liable for service in Canada and is not liable for service outside of Canada unless he is willing for such service, Anyone wishing to take this training may apply to George R.
