ciety on Monday evening when a
most enjoyable tune was held, Pray-
er nes offered lar, Mary Helen Eck-
mier. Thomas MisPadaean gave the
opening epee'slt of welcome to the
Youu'g people. The program opened
with a vocalduet by Melia Breans
and Lloyd: Wheeler. A piano sole
was given by Alice Pore. Mdss Helen
Baelner 'grave the hopde in the ab-
sence of E. D, Bell,her subject be-
ing "Choosing A Calleag," or "A
Life Worth While," which was very
interesting. Mr, Layc'ork sang 'Even-
ing Song," with Bobs 'Campbell as
accolpanist, A reading was given • CHURCH NOTES
by Mn*. H J, Hendry. Amusing
games were *played and' a bountiful
lunch served at the close.

Honors Couple
A very pleasant affair took place
on S*tunday evening at the Thome
of Mss. A, Q. Baeker, when, Miss
Mary Backer entertained the man-
agers (17. D, Bell and Ken. Ashton)
and girls of the soot ball team to a
sdx•dbinty 'dinner, The home was
beautifully decorated in the club's
colors of black and gold and mums
After dinner Mist Mary Backer read.
the addresas and Mists Gladys Row-
land made the presentation to the
newlyweds (Sormerly Miss Vera
Fox) Mr. and Mrs. Dave Hastings of
three beautiful boudoir lamps from
the club. Mrs, Hastings made a fit-
ting reply in (behalf of her hus-
band and herself, thanking the
donors for their lovely gifts, Miss
Elizabeth Baeker won the plate
prize. Later on. all motored to
Wiisgham.. where they attended the
picture show.

wishes to announce that he has opened his
office on Wlliain. Street, Brussels, Ont., in
the former establishment of 'Dr. McRae,
aftercompleting post graduate work in
Toronto in diseases of children, Gynaecol-
ogy and Surgery.

Winter Lodge
Opened
The openingof a n•e'w winter
lodge, headquarters for the winter'
hunting siportswas held on Friday
evening last with a small gathering
present.
It wap officially opened at 8
o'clock with a short speech and a
•stocking 0eelt step dance by Sam
followed with a toast. Sim, - the
fireman gave a dance and the ,music
wee eu'ppdied by the Guitar and
Kazoo o•rob,e tam The feast was
held at 9.30 and; then refreshments
followed'. ,Sara and J'aCk waited
an •the tables and rendered good
service. Shorty and Jill) were
kind of late for dire party ae they
got lost in the bush, Teddy gave
a short speeds and them a dance
which was great entertainment for
the boys, Frank and Pete put on a
show for the longest endurance bat
Joe won out and then •both gave
a -Speech toward Danny, the aroht
tent of the building. Joe and Damn'y
Couldn't agree to sleep in one bed
and a shoat fight followed but ended
cheerfully,
It was a veiny sncessful evening
and the cabin was given the title:
