sickness of E. L. Jardine, to relieve
Mrs. Jardine of the constant care so
necessary in such emergencies. The
patient is progressing favourably
and it is encouraging and pleasing
that a speedy recovery is looked for.
Ethel relatives have received the
sad intelligence of the sudden -
death of Mrs. W. P, Davis, of Grand
Forksl, N;D„ ifonmerly Rachel
Spence, daughter of the late Win.
and Mrs. Spence prominent in

death occurred in the month of
August and it seems particularly co-
incidental that an August issue of

Mr. Henry Branton • met with a
painful accident 'While drawing in
oats at lids farm. He was unload-
ing with the use of •sling -s, when
the rope brake allowing the load to
fall, It 'land'ed' on the ,whiffile•
trees, breaking them. The sharp
end; of one struck Mr. Branton in
the face, near his ear, making a ;nas-
ty cut which will disable him for a
time. Neighbors turned out on
Saturday and completed drawing in
his harvest,

occupied the Pulpit in Knox Pres-
byterian Church on Sunday, speak-
