came today this candling news—in
1816 there yasn't any summer! ........
A scrapbook -diary kept by the
grandmother of Elmer Dillon of
Rock, now a part of Buffalo, reveals "July 11--ICropu very backward."
chronologically a summerless 1516: ...August 24—Frog., Alines and
cornu in: some places ruined:'
"March 9--Snow--2 feet deep."
"April 12—lFour inches .snow:'
"May 20-411 froze so hard last
night that mud three inches deep
will bear a main."
"June 6 ----snowed from early
morn until 1 p.m., melting as 7s.....a.t as
it fell, save in north. side ofbuild-
ings.!'
"June 2S—A little frost."
"Oot'ober 17—Snow eight inches
deep,"
