assisted by Past. President Fred

the Mleinbership ;Commhittee present-
ed the new Cubs, Stewart Beattie,
Jack ,Reavie, Wilford Cruickshank
and Murray Johnson. Lion Hai- out -
tined the alma of Lionlem and Lion
Pred read' the code ethics. Lion
Conor Haselgrone presented the
7 ions' emblem, to each new member.
The Lions' soar was given to honour
of the occasion,

wounded near Caen. He was flown
to England and later entered St.
Dur stan's. He praised the fine
trainiiug given there for blinded
veterans. lie had taken the training
in typing and explained the pro-
cedure, He hoped. to take up tele- 1
phone ,operating at the branch of St.
Duns,tan's in Toronto. Jte exhibited
ibis watch given him by the head of
St. Dur,stan's in Dnglamtl. It was
examined by all the Lions after the '
meeting and it is so arranged that
the time can be .readily ascertained
by touch. He incited questions by
the Lions. There were about 700
veterans at the headquarters, In
England and of these about 12 were
Canadian. A wide choice of
courses was hoffheredextending from
chicken farming, to typing. Courses
usually lasted tram six months to
one and a half yeaas. He expressed,
his thanks to the. Lions, for kindness
extended to him. Hearty appreota ;
Tion of his remarks was given by
the Club.
