The death occurred in Cranbroolc
on Thursday, Nov. 18. 1943 of George
Michel in his 59th year. A son of
the late Conrad Michel and Sarah
Redaway, he spent Jiis entire life in
Grey township, conducting a general
store in Henfryn and for the past
Cour years in Cranbrook.
Although he had been in failing
health for the past two years he
had not been seriously 111 until the
past week, •
'Surviving are his wife, Lha former
Florence Whitfield whom' he married
twenty-seven years ago, and 0110 ton.

The minister was Rev. H. Sea

in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Ethel.
The 'beautiful flowers were a
tribute to the high esteem with
which the deceased was regarded.

Announcement Made Of
Reduced Rural Hydro Rates
Reduction in hydro rates for
129,000 rural consumers through a
uniform power rate for all rural
areas of the province, elimination
of service charges to farmers and aa.

by the Ontario Hydro Electric Power
Commission.
The revision in rates and the In-
stitution of a uniform rate for all
rural consumers was Reclded upon

The new rates are to become ef-
fective January 1st. They will give
the greatest reduction where most
needed -that is to those living in:

reduced for about 129,000 out of 103;
